We just got back from our prospecting trip in Sicily and I don't know where to start. There is nothing that I didn't like, everything and I promise I'm not exaggerating, everything, I liked it in one way or another. I have a repetitive phrase that comes to mind every time I remember it and it is "I have fallen in love with Sicily"
It is a marvel that you should not miss, in addition to the sympathy of its people, absolutely disinterested, the wonderful gastronomy and its natural surroundings, you will discover its architectural wonders, some of them classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
But I am going to start in order so that if I do not disperse and I do not finish telling you what we have seen in depth.
We started in Palermo, wandering around the city, finding the odd gastronomic marvel.
The kitchen serves to discover the places not with the sight but with the taste. Sicily, its gastronomy makes it particularly unique. “It is easy for a Sicilian to say that Sicilian cuisine is the best, but believe me it is the reality.”

The jewel in the crown is Gagini, a restaurant in which not only is the food superb, but the atmosphere envelops you, starting with the presentation of the menu and seeing every single detail of the exquisitely cared-for decoration. It is one of those places that you know when you enter, but not when you leave. Their motto says it all: “Food is part of a sensory experience…”

From the same group are Bocum, which is located right in front, ideal for appetizers and cocktails, also with a cozy and different atmosphere, and Buatta, which offers traditional and original dishes, set in an old luggage store that maintains its design from then. .

The pity was not knowing, due to lack of time, the literary café that has just opened. Waiting for the next visit
If after dinner you want to get to know the nightlife of Palermo, we recommend Vinoverso, a restaurant/bar with live music where you can give it your all dancing and having a drink.
Moving on to architecture, we must not forget that Monreale Cathedral is one of the greatest achievements of Norman art in the world. Its fusion with the Arab art that prevailed in Sicily before the conquest of the island by the Normans is notable.

On the outskirts of Palermo and on the so-called Mons Regalis, which was a hunting estate of the Norman kings, we find the Monreale Cathedral. Under the suggestive excuse that a dream-vision in which he found a treasure hidden by his father, the Norman King William II carried out the construction of one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe.
And here I come today, in the next post I will continue telling you about our discoveries.
I hope you enjoy it.
